THE REALITY OF FELLOWSHIP

1. DEFINED

                  Meaning of Fellowship– Koinonia (Vines)

                  * Communion – having in common, partnership

1.The share which one has anything, a participation, fellowship, recognized and enjoyed

                  a. Acts 2:42/Gal. 2:9– Common Interests & experiences

                  b. 1 Corinthians 1:9– Participation in the knowledge of the Son of God

                  c. 1 Corinthians 10:16– Sharing in Blood & Body of Christ

                  d. 2 Corinthians 13:14 – Fellowship in the Holy Spirit

                  e. Philippians 2:1– Participation in the Sufferings of Christ

                  f. 1 John 1:3-7 – Fellowship with the Father and the Son

                  g. 2 Corinthians 6:14- Impossibility of Communion between light & darkness

2. COMMUNION– manifested in Acts & practical effects of fellowship with God

Wrought  by the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers as the outcome of Faith

                  a. Philemon 6—fellowship of Faith

                   b. Romans 15:26/2 Corinthians 8:4 – Ministration to the poor/needy (Hebrews 13:16)

                  c. Philippians 1:5 Participation in the furtherance of the Gospel

      1. To have a share in Romans 15:27/1 Timothy 5:22/Hebrews 2:14/1 Peter 4:13

       2. To give a share to, go shares with Romans 12:13/Galatians 6:6

1.Fellowship means companionship, a relation in which parties hold something in common, Familiar intercourse, possessing like purposes and feelings essential to fruitfulness John 15:4

2. Love for and fellowship with one another are necessary to and evidence of  fellowship With God (1 John 4:12)

3. The fellowship of believers

                  a. Embraces confession with prayer (James 5:16)

                  b. Assembly (Malachi 3:16/Hebrews 10:24-25)

                  c. Partaking the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

                  d. Ministering to the Saints (Acts 11:29)

                  e. Bearing the infirmities of the weak and edification

                                                  (Romans 15:1)
